Evaluation of the Infertile Couple

At FERTILITE, we understand that the journey through infertility can be complex and emotional. That’s why we offer a streamlined and supportive approach to evaluating and treating infertile couples, making the process as smooth and efficient as possible.

Whether you reach out to us through social media, our website, or by phone, we ensure that the first steps toward finding a solution are easy and accessible. We offer both in-person consultations at our clinics and virtual evaluations through video calls, allowing you to choose the option that best fits your needs.

Step 1:

Initial Contact and Scheduling

Once you reach out to FERTILITE, our team will guide you through scheduling your initial consultation. Whether you opt for an in-person visit or a virtual consultation, this first interaction is essential to understanding your medical history, previous treatments, and any concerns you may have. During this step, we may request that you bring or submit prior fertility exams or medical records that will help us better understand your situation.

Step 2:

Comprehensive Fertility Evaluation

At FERTILITE, we perform a comprehensive fertility evaluation for both partners, covering all potential factors of infertility. We tailor this evaluation based on each couple’s unique circumstances, ensuring that we explore all possible causes with precision and care.

For Women

  • Hormonal Profile: Blood tests to evaluate key fertility hormones such as FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, and Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels.
  • Pelvic Ultrasound: To assess the condition of the ovaries, uterus, and other reproductive organs.
  • Hysteroscopy: A procedure to visually inspect the uterus, which we perform routinely for all female patients.
  • Hysterosalpingography (HSG): Only performed when specifically indicated, this specialized X-ray checks if the fallopian tubes are open and examines the uterine cavity.
  • Ovarian Reserve Testing: To evaluate the number of eggs remaining in the ovaries.
  • Genetic Screening (if needed): To rule out any genetic causes of infertility, particularly for women with suspected genetic disorders, premature ovarian failure, or those undergoing in vitro fertilization and egg donation.

Endometrial Biopsy for ERA: Performed only in selected cases to assess endometrial receptivity, this test helps optimize the timing of embryo transfer for improved success rates.

For Men

  • Semen Analysis: A basic and crucial test to evaluate sperm count, motility, and morphology.
  • Hormonal Profile: Blood tests to check levels of testosterone and other hormones affecting sperm production.
  • Genetic Testing (if necessary): Especially for cases of oligozoospermia or azoospermia, or when the male partner will be the genetic parent in egg donation cases. Genetic testing helps identify any chromosomal abnormalities.
  • Testicular Ultrasound: To evaluate for any structural issues or blockages in the reproductive tract.

In all cases of in vitro fertilization (IVF), especially those involving egg donation, both the egg donors and the male partners (who will be the genetic parents) are evaluated by a geneticist. This ensures that the appropriate genetic tests are conducted, such as screening for conditions related to premature ovarian failure, oligozoospermia, azoospermia, and other genetic disorders, ensuring the best possible outcome for the couple.

Step 3:

Prompt and Personalized Therapeutic Plan

Once the evaluation is complete, which at FERTILITE typically takes no more than 15 days, our medical team works together to create a personalized therapeutic plan based on the results. We ensure that the treatment plan is practical, effective, and tailored to your unique fertility needs.

Treatments may include:

Ovulation Induction

For women with irregular ovulation, we stimulate egg development with medications.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

A lower complexity treatment option for mild fertility issues.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

For more complex cases, where fertilization occurs in our state-of-the-art laboratory.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

For couples at risk of passing on genetic disorders.

Fertility Preservation

For couples who want to preserve eggs, sperm, or embryos for future use.

Each treatment plan is designed with efficiency and high quality in mind. We aim to start the recommended treatment as soon as possible, ensuring that you receive the best care without unnecessary delays.
