Intrauterine Artificial Insemination (IUI)
At FERTILITE, we offer advanced Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) treatments, also known as artificial insemination. This procedure involves washing, concentrating, and injecting sperm directly into the woman’s uterus. The most common indications for IUI include cervical mucus abnormalities, low sperm count, poor sperm motility, high semen viscosity, antisperm antibodies, unexplained infertility, and the use of frozen donor sperm.
During natural conception, only a fraction of sperm can pass through the cervical mucus and reach the uterus. IUI significantly increases the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes, where fertilization occurs, thus improving the chances of success.
Indications for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Low sperm count
Poor sperm motility
Antisperm antibodies
Unexplained infertility
Use of donor sperm
Success Rates at FERTILITE
The success rate of IUI can vary depending on factors such as the woman’s age, sperm quality, and the use of fertility medications. At FERTILITE, we are proud to achieve success rates above the average, thanks to our highly specialized team and a laboratory equipped with the most advanced assisted reproduction technology.
Studies have shown that IUI is most effective when combined with fertility medications that stimulate the growth of multiple follicles in the ovaries. This technique, known as controlled ovarian stimulation, maximizes the chances of conception. At FERTILITE, we create individualized protocols for each patient, ensuring a personalized approach to optimize results.

Requirements for Intrauterine Insemination
For Men:
- The semen must meet certain basic criteria, such as an adequate sperm count and good motility and morphology. A semen analysis is essential to determine treatment suitability.
- For cases involving donor sperm, we select samples from certified sperm banks, which include both national and international donors. These banks ensure high standards of quality and safety, and each sample is carefully evaluated to ensure the best quality.
For Women:
- The patient must have normal hormonal test results on the third day of the menstrual cycle.
- The fallopian tubes must be patent, and the uterine cavity must be normal, confirmed by tests such as a hysterosalpingogram.
- In cases of ovulatory disorders, the patient may be a candidate if she responds well to fertility medications.
